Gun Laws and School Shootings

Well, let me preface this by saying that I am not a fan of gun violence.
I'm not a fan of violence period.
And, I'm horribly stupid so keep that in mind in case my opinion on this subject registers on your ". . .Are you retarded?" meter.

Okay, . . . . Rant mode.

Anyway, like many of you guys, I've been hearing non stop gossip and news about the recent school shooting (say those last three words out loud and begin to wonder why there have now been so many that we say "recent" ), and I'm fed up, FED UP, with the news and media talking nonstop about FRIGGIN' GUN LAWS!

Clearly, the bigger issue here is, oh, I don't know, the fact that PEOPLE ARE ROUTINELY KILLING OTHERS AT SCHOOLS! It doesn't have to be guns, it could be flamethrowers or land mines made of Manowars. Outlawing guns or anything else does NOT stop people who are obviously in need of some SERIOUS counseling.

Honestly, forget the guns issue at the moment and take the time to ask yourself something. Why schools? What is it about schools that make them murder carnivals? Why not a local Chilis?

Well, I have a theory. The local Chilis is kind of awesome, the sixteen year old dishwasher is a good person over all, and instead of imprisoning you during the most angsty and confusing period of your life (your school years), judging you, MOLDING you, and in general making you feel powerless, helpless, and worthless. For years. Without getting paid. Without subjecting you to dept slavery and empty promises of wealth. Without criticizing you for actually doing something.

Look at your local school for a minute. Go look, I'll wait . . .

Notice something? I'm willing to bet a hundred internet dollars that what you saw had a LOT of fences and cameras around it. Maybe even police. Schools aren't learning centers anymore (if they ever were), they're prisons.

But okay, okay, let's say you grew up poor and your parents didn't have the resources to look after you and needed you in school because hey it sure beats child labor. In fact, let's say school has nothing to do with it, and it's mostly chosen as a kill spree because FREAKING NOBODY HAS A GUN THERE (well, no adult. Some kids may be packing heat.). [We want the children to feel safe, not free, and since we don't want guns there we'll hire police men to really hit home the kids aren't in a prison]. Let's say the environment in which these killers had spent the MAJORITY of their lives has nothing to do with it.

Why then are they attacking schools? Why do they want to kill?
Well, maybe they're depressed as hell. Maybe, like suicidally depressed. But not just suicidally depressed. Maybe they feel worthless and lost and helpless and the world would be better off without them. Maybe they don't have anybody to talk to, maybe the people they CAN talk to refuse to actually listen. Maybe there is no out, and they do something. The would be killer accepts it. He accepts he's trash, he's nothing, and this makes him angry.

He wants others to hurt. HURT. He wants whole communities to feel pain. To suffer! He knows (he thinks) he can never achieve this by helping others in his own unique way. So he decides to be INFAMOUS, make people feel the same degree of hurt and pain he's feeling, and then once he's done the deed, take his own life, because fuck it, what else is there to live for? He's thinking, "I can't help others. Nobody wants me. In fact people hate and revile me and it's my fault." And being somewhat impulsive, and you know, with nobody to really talk to, he grabs an assault rival and kills his mother.

Alright, now there's nothing left. Head to a local school, kill until the anger and sorrow become numb, and then takes his own life.

Or something like that. Fact is, I don't know. NOBODY KNOWS. All anybody is doing is saying, "They should make guns illegal!" "No, just assault weapons!" "Obama, Obama, talk to people you've never met before and pray for their families and make more gun laws! Legislate! LEGISLATE!"

Well, I'm sick of it. There are a growing number of people my age and in their teens who desperately need counseling, friends, or just a FUCKING HUG; people who feel that they'll never get out of wage slavery and that they got the raw deal for the having the bad luck of being born poor and goring through an education system that (they feel) fucked them over.

And all I here is people saying, "Fuck him, he's crazy! NO MORE GUNS!"

But WHY IS HE CRAZY?!!!!
This is the more important issue, tell that to your political/law boner and address the REAL problem. More police and outlawing guns are NOT going to stop school killings.

Do you know how freaking EASY it is get a flamethrower. Seriously! "Oh, but assault rifles are only used for killing other human beings, nyeh!"
With all the modesty I can muster, I reply, "Fuck that shit! If I couldn't get a gun, I'd kill people with a flamethrower! Or a rabid zebra!"

My point is there are WAYS to kill people other than guns. All making guns illegal will do is create ANOTHER black market in the states, make the lives of prostitutes and other people who work in the grey zones of the law that much more difficult, and make it A LOT easier for urban crime areas to be deadlier. (A knife is no comparison to a gun, and dedicated criminals will not care about the law). The planes in the 911 attacks were hijacked by people with BOX CUTTERS.

And it still has nothing to do with WHY PEOPLE ARE KILLING STUDENTS AND TEACHERS AT SCHOOLS!

Seriously, this issue is more important than your ("your" being lawmakers and the media in general) stupid political quest for more/less gun laws.

Okay, rant mode disengaged.

On a brighter note, I may have a job interview come Wednesday.
